WHO WE ARE
Our Story
Brad and I (Lisa) have always valued our homes. Whether we were settling our roots deep into our community or striking out for distant lands, home has always been a place of refuge, hope, and creativity for us and our families. And then, of course, the pandemic hit. Home, and our ability to cultivate a safe and beautiful space that we wanted to be in, became more important than ever.
It was with this idea of home in mind that, after a day out shopping in Nashville, Brad and I reflected on how wonderful it would be if there were a store in Gallatin that brought together all of the eclectic beauty and practicality of our community and its people. It would feature all of the best of our local artisans, along with a bit of European refinement and world-explorer flair. A place filled with all the goods and gifts you could need for you and your loved ones to create spaces that encourage hope, that beautiful thing with feathers, to perch in your souls. Perch Home and Hospitality was born.

Our Team

Brad Schreiner (co-owner) is a life long educator and has lived and taught in Gallatin for almost 40 years! She enjoys running and reading (though not at the same time) and can be found with her husband Jim on Old Hickory Lake when the weather is sunny and the fish are biting. |

Lisa Pos (co-owner) moved to Gallatin from Switzerland in 2020. A native of Southern California, she loves spending an afternoon reading a good book, sitting at the piano, or cooking up something delicious in the kitchen. She and her husband Michael live in a quiet little spot on the banks Old Hickory Lake. |

Sherry Dodson (Team-member-in-Chief) retired from teaching in 2020 and moved to a small farm in Portland, where she lives with her husband Chris, and a menagerie of 4-footed friends (alpacas, chickens, peacocks, ducks, turkeys, guineas, and their dalmation, Gibson). She loves baking and spending time with her 6 (!!!) grandchildren. |

Cleo (vp of Public Relations) loves her afternoons at Perch, and will happily dispense cuddles-on-demand and allow you to feed her mom-approved treats. There now. Everyone feels better. |
And the people said...
-
"I am so glad I found this gem. The owner was so very welcoming and remembered little details I said in conversation to suggest items that I may be interested in. Definitely worth stopping by and checking in! You won’t be disappointed."
-
"What a great shop! Went in with my husband and we have VERY different tastes but both loved Perch. Really unique and high quality items. I’m making toast right now to try the cinnamon honey."
-
"We participated in the cooking workshop with Southern Olive. I had to go back to introduce another friend to my new favorite store. I love everything they have to offer and that says a lot as I am not much of a shopper. I feel like I've known these ladies my entire life. I encourage everyone to visit and experience the shop and one of their fun workshops!"
-
"We stumbled upon downtown Gallatin and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the shops and businesses. The Perch was one of our favorites! I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem. Please make plans to support this woman-owned business that highlights other women-owned businesses!"

That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops - at all -
